night of tributes in honour of late Prof. Dora Akunyili was held
yesterday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. Prof. Dora
Akunyili who died on June 7 after losing the battle with cancer will be
buried this Thursday, August 28.
Among the dignitaries who gathered to honour the late amazon were the Honourable MInister of Information - Mr. Labaran Maku; Former CBN governor - Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo; Minister of Finance - Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Hon. Minister of Health - Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu; Director General, Voice of Nigeria - Mall Abubakar Jijiwa;, National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists - Mr Mohammed Garba; President National Council for Women Societies - Mrs Nkechi O. Mba; Hon. Minister of Solid Minerals - Arch. Musa Sada; Hon Minister of Labour and productivity - Chief Emeka Wogu, Madam Onyeka Onwenu, Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, Former Minister of Health, Prof A.B.C, Retired General Yakubu Gowon, Dr. Chris Ngige, Chief Victor Umeh.
