The Worst Dressed Celebrities At The MTV VMAs 2014

Red Carpets are always fun! Somehow outfits from red carpets at the beginning of the awards season seem to set the trend for the rest of the year and help us anticipate looks for future award ceremonies. This is why we expected so much from MTV’s Video Music Awards red carpet, but to say the least, it was disappointing. So instead of doing a best-dressed list, a worst dressed one is in order. Here are the top 5 worst dressed at the 2014 VMA’s.
 5. Katy Perry (and Riff Raff) in Versace
Now Katy Perry may have been going for a remake of one Britney Spears VMA looks many years prior, but this is a far cry from the fabulousness that she usually is on the red carpet. Just going the more traditional route with a nice long flowing dress would have done her more justice. This, my friends, is a hot, hot mess. katy pery
4. Ariana Grande in Moschino

Apart from the fact that Ariana can’t stop looking like she’s 12 years old, her wardrobe may need some help. This is not the first time I have been disappointed with her look on the red carpet, but this? This is just… I don’t even have the words. Personally I don’t think Moschino outfits are made for the red carpet. Save it for a music video or stage performance. And then the thigh-highs in this summer heat? I’m done though Ariana. Seek stylist services, and if you already have some, replace them. ariana grande
 
3. Solange Knowles in H&M Solange, Solange, Solange. This feminine tuxedo look is not the easiest look to pull off if you’re not Janelle Monae. Selena Gomez wore one of the best I’ve seen this season on the red carpet, and honestly, it doesn’t appear often. Solange is a great reminder why. This ill-fitting tuxedo along with the big hair makes for a terrible combination. The calm shine does make the outfit stand out a lil, but the size of the blazer is so off, its disturbing. A nice simple up do like a bun would’ve sufficed too, but then again, this is Solange. She’s a little uhh, awkward. solange knowles
2. Sarah Hyland in Kaufmanfranco

 I can’t understand how Sarah looked in the mirror and decided “Yes! This is definitely my look for the VMA’s!” This is just so poor – from the fabric, to the cut, to the colour, to the fitting. I honestly have nothing good to say about this look. It looks like an old curtain from my grand ma’s house that was cut and pinned 20 minutes before the show. sarah hyland
1. Amber Rose in Laurel DeWitt

 And this, ladies and gentlemen, takes the cup for the absolutely worst dressed at the VMA’s this year. Not only is this a very terrible choice of an outfit, it is also mighty unflattering. I have nothing against a full woman, but the draping of the chains make Amber look weirdly chubby. Her boobs look like they’re falling, and her lower stomach is accentuated. I don’t know how you can have the opportunity to wear a really nice dress and choose to wear this. The way I feel about this is the same way I felt about Rihanna’s see through red carpet dress earlier on this year – annoyingly distasteful and inappropriate.
