The White House Press Briefing Room in the West Wing of the White House
was evacuated today after a bomb threat, shortly after the Capitol
community had its own scare when a bomb threat was phoned into a Senate
office building.
Metropolitan Police received a bomb threat against the White House over
the phone at 1:53 p.m., according to Secret Service spokesman Brian
Leary.
The briefing room was evacuated as a precaution, and was the only part
of the White House evacuated, according to White House Spokesman Josh
