Nigeria moves up FIFA rankings

Nigeria's Super Eagles moved up two spots to 43rd in the recently
released FIFA rankings and occupies the 7th position in Africa. Nigeria,
which will soon host Chad in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
in Kaduna, ranked 45th in the last edition following its woeful
performances against Uganda and South Africa.
Algeria still maintains its top position in Africa and 21st in the world
followed by the 2015 champions, Cote d ’Ivoire. Tunisia is place 3rd in
Africa and 29th in the world. Germany remains 1st the FIFA rankings. In
what could be termed as its best ranking in the history of football,
Belgium moved to the 2nd position, displacing Argentina to the 3rd
position.
