See a short clip of Kanye‘s audition below, in which he raps lines from “Gold Digger,” and namedrops J. Lo: “My psychic told me she’ll have an ass like Serena / Trina, Jennifer Lopez, four kids.”

Ryan Seacrest has confirmed that Yeezy is going to Hollywood. We suspect that the audition will be shown as a humorous stunt when the show premieres; I mean, he better not be foregoing SWISH to star on the next season of American Idol.

For whatever reason, Kanye West “auditioned” for American Idol.

Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr., the hosts of American Idol, were treated to a surprise today, as they were greeted by a familiar face during Idol auditions in San Francisco. Also today in San Francisco, West was introduced by Barack Obama before performing at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee. The stakes weren’t quite as high for his Idol “audition.”
