Seventeen police officers in Peru have kicked the bucket in the wake of contracting novel coronavirus while implementing the country's pandemic lockdown, authorities and state media said.
Authorities conceded recently that in any event 1,300 officers had been contaminated by COVID-19.
On Saturday new inside priest Gaston Rodriguez, who was confirmed a day sooner after the unexpected abdication of his forerunner when the diseases count developed, stated:
"We have 17 expired police officers across the nation, 11 of them in Lima. The high number is connected to "the introduction that police officers have while interceding with individuals who abuse the measures gave to contain the spread of the coronavirus."
Peru has been on lockdown since March 16.
